He moved to the United States in 2003 for post-graduate training. He then enrolled in a three-year Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine fellowship training at The University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston. At The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, he achieved the highest board scores among his peers.
