Katharine
Katharine has been teaching Pilates since 2007. She came to the USA from the UK in 1997. In the UK, Katharine was a youth worker at a health project for young people, specializing in women’s health. She started taking Pilates when she was working as a Personal trainer in Houston, TX. Katharine hoped to improve her flexibility but within months she realized the back pain she had had for years had reduced immensely. She was so impressed that she decided to train to become a Pilates instructor and began incorporating Pilates into all her clients workouts, with positive results. Since discovering the benefits of Pilates, Katharine is passionate that, “everybody” can benefit and “everybody” of every age can benefit from the works of Joseph Pilates.
Katharine is: an ACE certified Personal trainer, Stott trained Pilates instructor, mat, reformer, chair, props and small equipment, Balanced Body trained Pilates instructor, mat & reformer, Certified Vibro kinetic (vibration/power plate) trainer level 1 & 2, Pink Ribbon certified breast cancer Pilates instructor, MELT certified hand & foot instructor &
Bender Barre certified instructor.
Katharine has attended workshops and has experience in breast cancer, osteoporosis, shoulder, knee & hip. She has attended the Functional Anatomy for Movement & Injuries (FAMI) workshop for movement specialists at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York.
Katharine lives in Houston, Texas. She enjoys travel, being outside, walking and playing golf. At present Katharine is studying to become a PMA® Certified Pilates Teacher.
