  • Levi Brown

    Instructor

Hi! My name is Levi, My personal hobbies since childhood have always included literature, music, photography, writing, or other forms of arts. While I enjoyed exercise, I never played sports and as I got older my lifestyle became more and more sedentary. By age 14, I was told by doctors that I was obese. I was not pleased with myself and wanted to lose weight, but had no idea where to start. I figured if I just ran and did push-ups a lot that I would get “super fit” and I just knew that I had to do something. After over a full year of doing this, I definitely made progress with weight loss, but eventually was in more pain than ever before in my life. My shoulders, neck, feet, and legs hurt all of the time, and I knew it was because of what I was doing but had no concept of the “why?”. I began to research and fell in love with anatomy and medicine in general. Even though I was beginning to surround myself with people in the fitness and medical communities, through work and school, my instruction career didn’t start until I was hired here at Club Pilates Clear Lake & South Shore Harbor as a sales representative. I was still planning to pursue a career in medicine but was taking courses for nutrition and dietetics at the time. I figured that working with a fitness company would help provide further opportunities for education. I honestly never thought that I could instruct classes, but after 3 months of immersing myself in the Pilates culture, I really couldn’t see myself doing anything else. I physically was feeling better than ever before and wanted to help share that, so I decided to join the Teacher Training program through Club Pilates and began teaching classes In February of this year! As a young person, the difference in my flexibility, muscular control, body awareness, and general physical strength and stamina is so evident since being with Club Pilates, that I feel as though everyone should at least give it a try. The information that I search for and find seems virtually limitless. It’s just astounding how much intention and attention goes into each movement, and I hope to continue to learn with all of my colleagues and members here. My motto is " regardless of how new or seasoned we are there is always new information that can be of benefit to the brain AND body!"

  • Sara Oliver

    Lead Instructor

Hi, my name is Sara Oliver. While I was born and raised in OKC, OK, I have lived in Texas now for more than half my life and consider it home. I have been a certified personal trainer since 1998! Wow, that makes me sound old. 20 years doing what I love though really makes me young! I love teaching people how to fall in love with fitness! I hold a degree in Kinesiology-Exercise Science with a minor in Nutrition from the University of Houston. I am a NESTA Certified Adventure Boot Camp Instructor, American College of Integrative Medicine Certified Personal Fitness Trainer, Fitness Coach through Wellcoaches, by ACSM, pilates certified, and TRX certified, with continuing education in rehabilitation and water training. I've been an athlete since the 7th grade and played basketball into the first two years of college. I even coached basketball for a year after college until I realized I really loved teaching people of all ages how to get in shape and find their Inner Athlete. I've been married for 18 years and have three wonderful children who I also home-school. We love spending our days together learning. I love working at Club Pilates where I get to continue sharing my passion for balancing the body through movement. I believe a strong body leads to a strong life in all areas of health. I look forward to helping you get from where you are to where you want to be.

  • Pam Clary

    Instructor

Pam had been in the fitness industry since 1986 when she first began teaching for the YMCA in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She graduated from LSU with a Masters in Fisheries Science but decided to stay home and raise her four children. Fitness became a passion and enabled her to stay fit in between carpools. She has taught a number of modalities including step, aquatics, TRX, and weight training. She is ACE certified in both Group Exercise and Personal Training. She is an avid tennis player and loves to play doubles. Currently enrolled in the Club Pilates instructor training program she has come to really appreciate and understand that the beauty of Pilates is that anyone, at any age can get started. The practice of Pilates is a rounded technique for both men and women concentrating on strength, not bulk (the two are easily confused)and control. "By focusing the mind, regulating your breathing and making use of internal resistance it is an extremely powerful way to tone the body." She is a recent transplant to Texas by way of Baton Rouge. She and her husband enjoy tennis, golfing and long walks.

  • Delma Schriever

    Owner/Instructor

After working at NASA, Hermann Hospital and Shell I retired to embark upon a new adventure. I started my Pilates adventure a few years ago while still a part of corporate America, I found that my Pilates classes made me more aware of the correct usage of muscles, standing taller, sitting taller and pulling my shoulders back. I also found that I had more flexibility and range of motion in my neck, shoulders and hips. I discovered muscles that I hadn't used during my trips to a traditional gym. I enjoyed the classes and wanted to attend! As a part of the Club Pilates Family, I enjoy working with members young and old and helping those with special needs find the best exercises to help them get moving and live life! Come see me at the studio and get moving. DO PILATES DO LIFE

  • Hillary Strubel

    Pilates Instructor

Hi! My name is Hillary. I am originally from Upstate NY, attended college at UNLV, but Houston is now my home after moving here 4 years ago! My Pilates journey started when I was in college. I have always loved fitness, health, and wellness. I discovered Pilates and instantly fell in love. The core strength I achieved through Pilates was like no other workout I had done before. On top of this, my body awareness and coordination drastically improved. Pilates is a lifelong journey that keeps you young, strong, flexible, and builds endurance. It completely changed my body and my movement! After moving to Houston, I decided I wanted to share the gift of Pilates and help others get stronger. I attended Washington Avenue Pilates and became a comprehensively certified Pilates instructor. One of the things I love most about Pilates is that it is for EVERYBODY! I enjoy teaching those recovering from injuries or with contraindications and helping them heal. I also love teaching beginners as well as experienced Pilates students and watching them become stronger, and more confident week after week!

Hi, my name is Jewels Bridges! After working for Corporate America for 20 plus years and teaching Classical Mat Pilates part-time, I decided to teach full time what I loved the most “Pilates”! Pilates is my personal savior and rehabilitation for my own ailments. For years I have suffered with Osteoarthritis, hip and joint ailments. I have had both my right and left hip replaced, along with my right knee and I have deteriorating disks in my neck and back. I enjoy helping others using what I have learned and sharing my testimony with my clients. Club Pilates is where I received my formal training to teach classes utilizing the Reformer, EXO Chair, Bosu Ball, TRX and Spring-board. I feel people benefit at Club Pilates due to the Specialized fitness equipment available and in depth training of instructors. I taught fitness for two years at College of the Mainland in Lamarque TX with a focus on senior fitness programs. I still enjoy teaching Senior Exercise at a Senior Living Facility in Seabrook TX and Yoga in my community. Pilates is a great way to improve your overall Spine health, focusing on the core and spine, along with flexibility and movement. Both benefit overall health and well-being. Pilates makes me feel great and without it I feel like the TIN MAN without oil!

I have been teaching at Club Pilates for over a year. Pilates helped me recover from a major car accident that cracked my spine. For years I suffered with back pain and loss of my flexibility. I had to see a chiropractor weekly to feel better but now all I need to do is take a Pilates class to feel great. I love how my health has improved and I’m able to do the activities I love, like dancing, art, playing with my daughter and traveling. I love my job and the amazing people I get to work with.
