Annual eye exams are a recommended cornerstone for ensuring the health of your eyes. In addition to checking for changes in your vision and updating your prescription, we will also look at your overall eye health, internally and externally. Prevention and early detection are keys to maintaining healthy eyes, as some eye health issues have no immediate symptoms but can still cause damage if left untreated.     A Houston transplant after completing her education in Ontario, Canada in 1997, she completed her residency at Houston Eye. She has serviced the Galleria and Memorial areas for over 20 years and has committed herself to offering exceptional eye care to her patients. Her vast experience has allowed her to help her patients with comprehensive eye exams, specialty contact lens fittings and dry eye treatments. When she isn't working, she is cooking and enjoying time with her young adult kids.

  • Dr. Maria Courson

    I enjoy fitting specialty contact lenses (soft, gas permeable, scleral, orthokeratology), as well as recommending special options in glasses. These include progressive lenses, prism in lenses, unique lens tints for Irlen syndrome, etc. For the patients with allergy and dry eyes, I am passionate about repairing their eyes and getting back to a healthy comfort level. I can detect early cataract and night blindness as well.
