With over two decades of experience, we pride ourselves on offering some of the best plastic surgery results in Houston. What is LipoTuck™? LipoTuck™ is a one-stage procedure that creates a highly pleasing abdominal contour and waistline. The results are simply remarkable and unmatched. We encourage you to compare our before and after photos with those of other surgeons. You cannot afford not to. Some of the areas that LipoTuck™ can treat include: Abdomen Hips Back Flanks Axilla (armpit) Pubis Inner thighs Outer thighs Knees Arms Neck First Steps You will meet with Dr. Ahmadi and his patient coordinator. Dr. Ahmadi will listen to you and ask questions to guide you through decision-making. He will discuss the procedure and recovery with you. The Patient Coordinator will give you a quote for your procedure. Our patients say the consultation process is informative, relaxing, and fun. Our patients also tell us they wish they had come for consultation sooner and avoided all the hassle of searching and sifting through the plethora of online information, which is often confusing. The consultation fee is nonrefundable, but don’t hesitate to get in touch with us for details. We assure you that the money spent will be well worth it. You will have your questions answered honestly by Dr. Ahmadi. You will not be pressured to sign up for surgery and get many questions answered. Expectations Dr. Ahmadi performs all surgeries at Sweetwater Surgery Center, a QuadA-certified outpatient surgical center. LipoTuck™ takes longer to perform than a traditional abdominoplasty. The additional time is spent on contouring the body and doing liposuction. Dr. Ahmadi will make an incision around the belly button to release it from the surrounding skin. Next, the skin from the top of the belly button gets pulled down over the belly button to the pubic area. A new hole will be made, and the belly button gets pulled through. Of course, there is more to it than that. Dr. Ahmadi’s belly buttons are renowned for their natural appearance. Typically Lipotuck™ lasts between 4-6 hours, depending on each patient and the total number of liposuction areas. Post Procedure The recovery is not longer than a traditional tuck. However, most patients report returning to their lives faster than friends who have had a tuck elsewhere. This is because of our carefully planned and aggressive recovery protocol. The fact that no drains are used in a LipoTuck™ significantly helps the recovery process. You will be required to have someone drive you home after the surgery. Usually, patients can drive a week or two after their surgery and return to a desk job 10-14 days after surgery with lifting precautions. You cannot lift, pull, or push anything more than five lbs for six weeks post-surgery. Patients can usually drive ten days after surgery. Of course, everyone heals differently. After your LipoTuck™, your belly button will be small and attractive, and after recovery, it will look very natural. Typically the pubic area will be lifted and liposuctioned during LipoTuck™, so you won’t have to worry about any bulging from excess skin or fat.

We have locations in both Houston and Sugar Land. You may also contact us via our contact form. What Can Be Included in a Mommy Makeover? Many women in Houston receiving a mommy makeover procedure focus on a few main components to achieve more defined bodies, which can include breast lifts/implants, tightening abdominal muscles, and addressing areas of stubborn fat and excess skin. Not every patient will require each one of these cosmetic procedures to achieve their ideal body. Dr. Ahmadi will only suggest surgeries that match your individual goals and needs, and of course, he will only perform the ones that you agree to. His concern is, first and foremost, your safety, your satisfaction with the results, and your confidence in yourself. The most common mommy makeover procedures include: Breast Enhancement A breast augmentation rejuvenates the appearance of the breasts by restoring lost volume with implants or a fat transfer. Implants can be either silicone or saline and are available in a wide variety of different shapes and sizes so that you can choose what best suits your aesthetic preferences. (1) Instead of providing the breasts with more volume, Dr. Ahmadi will remove excess tissues to lift the breasts during a breast lift to provide them with a better shape. He can reposition the nipple to a more youthful position as well. (1) Overly large breasts can cause back pain for patients, as well as make it harder to find tops and bras that fit in a flattering way. With a breast reduction, Dr. Ahmadi can bring the breasts down to a more comfortable size while also improving their shape. Tummy Tuck The tummy tuck focuses on reshaping the abdomen. The human abdomen comprises layers of skin, subcutaneous fat, and underlying muscular structures, particularly the rectus abdominis muscles that help support core strength. Factors such as aging, pregnancy, and significant weight fluctuations can lead to a loss of elasticity in the skin, leaving areas of excessive skin and localized fat deposits. To perform a tummy tuck, Dr. Ahmadi can remove excess, sagging skin from the midsection via a horizontal hip-to-hip incision. He can also tighten the abdominal muscles, which sometimes separate in the event of a pregnancy. (3) Liposuction After a pregnancy, the body can develop stubborn fat deposits that are harder to eliminate with dieting and exercising. As a body contouring procedure, liposuction serves to redefine the figure by suctioning fat from select areas of the body. (3) The primary benefit of liposuction is the ability to sculpt the body and achieve a desired shape through targeted fat removal. Additional Procedures Arm Lift With an arm lift, also known as a brachioplasty, Dr. Ahmadi can remove hanging skin from the upper arms. The end result is arms that appear slimmer and more toned. Patients can feel more confident in sleeveless tops without bothersome excess arm skin. (1) Thigh Lift During a thigh lift, Dr. Ahmadi can restore a more toned appearance to the thighs. Removing excess skin and fat from the thighs to provide a more proportional, slimmer shape to the body. If necessary, Dr. Ahmadi can use liposuction to further shape the thighs. (3) Labiaplasty A labiaplasty can rejuvenate the appearance of the labia minora After a pregnancy, this area may not look the same as before. Dr. Ahmadi can reduce the appearance of sagging labia and address a variety of other vaginal characteristics. Many women consider labiaplasty for various reasons including physical comfort, emotional well-being, and enhanced sexual experiences

When you look in the mirror, do you feel like sagging eyebrows and frown lines are making you look older than you are? Avante Plastic Surgery can help give you a more youthful and refreshed appearance with brow lift plastic surgery. If you’re seeking the benefits of a brow lift, Houston plastic surgeon Dr. Ahmadi has years of experience helping patients enhance their face’s overall appearance, making you look and feel more confident. Procedure A brow lift, a forehead lift, or forehead rejuvenation, is a surgical procedure to remove excess skin from the brow area, elevate the eyebrows to a higher position, and smooth forehead wrinkles to create a more youthful and aesthetically pleasing appearance. A brow lift is not a substitute for Botox or other non-surgical treatments. While the brow lift can help improve the appearance of wrinkles and lift the forehead and brows, it does not address gravity and other areas of the face that may be affected by the signs of aging. For example, if you’re considering a neck lift or have sagging jowls or wrinkles around the mouth, you may still need other treatments. Types of Brow Lift Depending on the patient’s needs, brow lift procedures use different surgical techniques to lift and reposition eyelid and forehead tissue. The most commonly used brow lift techniques include endoscopic brow lift or a combination of the following procedures. Endoscopic Brow Lift This minimally-invasive technique uses several small incisions and the insertion of a tiny camera to lift the forehead and eyebrows. During the procedure, the camera helps to guide the instruments through the incisions to view the forehead and brow area and make precise adjustments to the tissue. Coronal Brow Lift This conventional technique involves a single incision made along the top of the scalp, usually from ear to ear. A combination of sutures, tissue removal, and repositioning to lift and reposition the forehead and eyebrows occurs during this procedure used for patients who need a more drastic lift. Direct Brow Lift This technique involves a series of small incisions along the eyebrow area. This type of brow lift is best for patients with bushy eyebrows and minor sagging or wrinkles in the eyebrow who want a more subtle lift. Temporal Brow Lift This procedure requires a single incision along the temple area, usually extending from the hairline to the outer corner of the eye. Hairline Brow Lift The incision for this procedure is made at the hairline rather than the scalp to correct a high hairline. Benefits Some of the benefits our Houston Brow Lift patients have seen from their surgery include: Improved appearance of their forehead Minimizes the tired and angry facial look Raises the eyebrows for a more youthful and awake look Removes wrinkles and excess, droopy skin from the forehead. Ideal Candidate Generally, people between 40 and 65 make the best candidates for a brow lift. Occasionally, adults in their twenties and thirties may require this surgery. Ideal candidates for brow lift plastic surgery seek improvement for the following conditions. Sagging of the upper eyelids, which obscures vision Tired, aged, or unwanted sad or angry facial appearance Wrinkles and deep lines on the forehead First Step You will meet with Dr. Ahmadi and his team at your initial consultation to discuss your expectations. During your appointment, you’re encouraged to ask questions and voice your concerns about the procedure and the recovery. The staff will also provide an all-inclusive quote for your brow lift procedure. Prepare for a brow lift plastic surgery by taking the following steps: Find a board-qualified and experienced plastic surgeon like Houston plastic surgeon Dr. Ahmadi. Understand the procedure, risks, and potential side effects. Share any pre-existing medical conditions, medications, and lifestyle habits with Dr. Ahmadi. Follow all pre-operative instructions, including abstaining from smoking and alcohol consumption. Arrange for someone to drive you home and stay with you overnight following the procedure.

A facelift, also called a rhytidectomy, is a procedure that tightens skin and facial muscles around the lower and middle parts of the face and neck. Depending on the procedure, it only requires an incision around the ears, along the hairline, or both. With the restorative potential of the facelift, you can enhance your natural features while looking young and refreshed. At Avante Plastic Surgery, we are dedicated to meeting the cosmetic needs of every patient with compassion and individualized care. Dr. Ahmadi is a leading plastic surgeon and researcher in the greater Houston, TX area with over 20 years of experience. As a pioneer of the techniques used in the popular and life-changing LipoTuck™ , Dr. Ahmadi’s attention to detail and expertise in unmatched. To book a consultation or ask about our services, fill out our contact form or give us a call at (281) 265-2639 for our Sugar Land and Houston locations. History of the Facelift Research for the facelift began over 100 years ago; according to medical literature, the procedure was successfully completed in 1901! In 1907, Dr. Charles Miller published “The Correction of Featural Imperfections,” which details several procedures designed to improve the cosmetic appearance of the face. This endeavor was largely dismissed at the time, but it was the first American text published on cosmetic surgery and contained primitive procedural steps for performing facelifts, which focused on the removal of lax skin. In 1976, a major breakthrough occurred in the field of cosmetic surgery. Drs. Mitz and Peyronie discovered the superficial musculoaponeurotic system (SMAS) and how it could be utilized. The SMAS is a layer of facial connective tissues and muscles that can be manipulated to lift the underlying structure of the face, rather than just tightening and removing skin. This important discovery allows today’s facelift to provide longer-lasting results, and to avoid the dreaded “windswept” appearance. (1) And, because less tension is placed on the skin, there is a reduced risk of unwanted changes to the areas around the incision sites, such as the earlobes and hairline. Modern facelift techniques, when performed by a skilled surgeon, ensure that patients can enjoy a revitalized appearance without it being obvious that they’ve “had work done.” Benefits Dr. Ahmadi’s extensive experience and surgical skills allow him to perform facelifts and provide consistent, natural-looking results that patients can enjoy for many years. If you think that a facelift is right for you, consider these benefits: It contours the jawline and cheeks- eliminating jowls. It can be coupled with a neck lift for a more comprehensive treatment. It smooths the appearance of nasolabial folds and other lines and wrinkles in the mid-face. Because the underlying tissues are carefully adjusted, the results look natural; skin does not look “pulled” back. It provides lift to the cheeks and improves the definition of the cheekbones. You will enjoy a boost in confidence and a younger, refreshed appearance! Ideal Candidates Facelift in Houston, Texas, Avante Plastic Surgery, Dr. Ahmadi Candidates for facelift procedures are typically in their 40s, 50s, or older, are in good health, and have realistic expectations for what the procedure can accomplish. While facelift surgery can provide dramatic and long-lasting results, it’s important to remember that the effects of facelifts (or revision facelifts) are not permanent. Most patients can expect to enjoy the benefits of a facelift for up to 10 years. However, the natural aging process will continue to affect your skin over time. Maintaining a healthy diet and exercise regimen and protecting your skin from sun damage is important. Patients should be non-smokers or willing to quit for several months before their procedure, and for the duration of their recovery. They should also be free from certain medical conditions that affect the healing process. There are several different types of facelift techniques that Dr. Ahmadi performs, and during your personal consultation, he’ll be able to determine which approach is appropriate based on the extent of the signs of aging that you wish to address, and the quality of your skin and underlying facial tissues. For example, those with mild or moderate signs of aging and skin descent, and sufficient fatty tissue may be good candidates for a mini-facelift, which is less invasive, utilizes shorter incisions, and targets the lower face only. Those with more advanced signs of aging may be better candidates for a full facelift or a deep plane facelift, which addresses a larger area of the face and neck. (3)

The average man wants to feel strong and powerful, which is why there are so many gym memberships out there. Unfortunately, there are many men who suffer from a condition that is more commonly referred to as “man boobs”. This doesn’t come from a lack of dedication to working out or even a poor diet, but rather a biological function that can only be fixed with surgery. Dr. Ahmad Ahmadi offers Gynecomastia surgery for his male Houston-area patients as a way to finally get closer to the body type that they want. Procedure Gynecomastia comes from the Greek translation of “female breast”, and is the non-cancerous enlargement of one or both breasts in a man. This symptom arises from excess growth of breast tissue as a result of a hormone imbalance between estrogens and androgens. While the condition is not life-threatening, it can cause self-esteem issues for many men. Some of the primary causes of Gynecomastia include: Anabolic steroids Endocrine Gland dysfunction Hormonal changes Prescription medications Weight gain Dr. Ahmadi uses male breast reduction surgery to help treat this condition by making the proper incisions that allow him to remove the excess skin and perform liposuction on the unnecessary fat. Benefits Our Houston Gynecomastia patients have seen so many benefits from their surgery, including: Can alleviate back pain Creates a more “masculine” figure Enhanced confidence and self-esteem Makes it easier to maintain a healthy weight Physical activity is more enjoyable Quick recovery Safe and fast procedure Ideal Candidate The best candidates for Gynecomastia surgery in Houston are patients who have the following characteristics: At a relatively normal weight Are overall healthy with no life-threatening illnesses or medical conditions that may impede healing Have been unable to correct gynecomastia through exercise or alternative medical treatments Feel that their breasts are too large and are bothered by their appearance Have realistic expectations for the results of the surgery Maintain a positive outlook with clear goals for improving the physical symptoms of gynecomastia Non-smokers or drug users First Steps If you are in the Houston area and feel like male breast reduction is right for you, the first step is to schedule your consultation at Avante Plastic Surgery. When you come in for your appointment, you will meet with Dr. Ahmadi who will evaluate your condition, address any questions or concerns you have, and listen to your goals for the surgery. You will be asked questions regarding your lifestyle and medical history, so it is very important to be open and honest with her because the information you provide helps prevent any unnecessary risks or side effects. Dr. Ahmadi is very discreet and confidential, so he is a safe person to talk to and his primary goal is your health and happiness. Once he has all the information he needs, he will create your personal procedure plan. If you agree with the plan, you will then schedule your surgical date with our Patient Coordinator, who will also provide you with some pre-op instructions to ensure the best procedure possible. Expectations On the day of your male breast reduction surgery, we will first administer you general anesthesia so you will be comfortable during your procedure. Dr. Ahmadi will begin by making incisions through the armpit or around the areola to insert a small tube called a cannula. He will move the tube back and forth along the fat deposits in your chest to loosen it up and suck it out via liposuction. After this, there are usually larger amounts of glandular tissue and skin that will be needed to be excised and removed. While not every patient will require both techniques, it is not uncommon for both to be performed to achieve the best look possible. Dr. Ahmadi will finish by closing the incisions with sutures. The entire surgery will last around one to two hours. Recovery After you are released from our care, you will be able to return home and recover in comfort. You will need a friend or family member to provide a ride home for you, and we strongly recommend having an adult caretaker available to assist you for the next day or so. After a male breast reduction, patients can expect to experience some swelling and bruising at first, but Dr. Ahmadi will prescribe you medication to alleviate any pain and keep the infection under control. You can also expect to wear a compression garment for the first week or so to keep any swelling to a minimum. You should be able to return to work in about a week post-surgery. Most patients are fully recovered in about two weeks, but every patient will have a different experience.

About FUE Hair Restoration Follicular Unit Extraction, more commonly referred to as FUE is one of two modern hair transplant techniques. FUE is a minimally invasive hair restoration option that demands skill and precision to achieve the best results. The FUE technique involves harvesting healthy hair follicles from the scalp and grafting them directly onto the bald and thinning areas of your head. Prior to FUE, another procedure, FUT, was used. A strip of tissue was taken from a donor area and then used for the transplantation of individual hair follicles. Although the transplanting principle sounds similar to the strip technique, the FUE technique achieves a more natural look without leaving any visible scars. (1) FUE works by extracting naturally occurring groups of one to three hairs (called follicular units) and transplanting these to a target area of the scalp. Unlike strip surgery, FUE hair transplantation does not require large areas of the scalp to be harvested. There is also no linear incision on the back of the head, nor does it leave a linear scar. Benefits of Hair Restoration Benefits of Hair Restoration Some of the biggest benefits our Houston Hair Restoration patients have seen from their treatment include: No linear scarring or stitches, allowing you to wear your hair short Achieves a more natural look Only the healthy and strong follicles are transplanted Less pain and potentially no missed days of work Initial healing takes only two to four days Sports activities can be resumed after one week The cost of a hair transplant is even less than previous processes Ideal Candidate The best candidates for Hair Restoration in Houston are any man or woman who: Is interested in the therapy as a proactive therapeutic option for patients experiencing hair loss Maintains realistic and optimistic goals regarding the treatment Requires stimulation of hair growth for hair loss conditions Suffers from androgenetic alopecia (male pattern baldness – hair loss at the top of the scalp and a receding hairline particularly along the temples) Understands the possibility of their body rejecting the treatment Candidates who opt for hair transplantation treatments should have a stable rate of hair loss. If you are a younger patient (under 25), we may recommend medication rather than surgery as your hair loss may not yet have stabilized. (2)

Breast augmentation is a procedure to enhance the size, shape, and projection of a woman’s breasts. Patients opt for breast implants as a means to volumize their breasts in a dramatic way with customization in mind. If you’re considering a breast augmentation, you’re not alone; a 2020 study by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons found that even during the pandemic, it remained in the top 5 most performed cosmetic procedures in the U.S. (1) Since their initial development in the 1960s, implant design and surgical techniques have improved drastically, making it safer than ever and offering incredible, long-lasting results. When you come to Avante Plastic Surgery in Houston and Sugar Land, TX, Dr. Ahmadi will walk you through every step of your treatment, ensuring you understand everything concerning preparation, the procedure itself, and the recovery you can expect. Our photo gallery features Dr. Ahmadi’s dedication to his craft and real before & after photos of his patients. With over two decades of experience, he prides himself on offering some of the best plastic surgery results in Houston. Call (281) 265-2639 or use our contact form to request a consultation at one of our practices in Texas to get started today, and a member of our team will assist you in answering any questions you may have. Breast Implant Options The quality and material of your breast implants are some of the most important factors that will contribute greatly to your results. As a board-certified surgeon, Dr. Ahmadi stays up to date with the pros and cons of each type of implant, ensuring that every patient receives proper education on this major decision. Saline v.s. Silicone Implants Saline implants are filled with a sterile saline solution, a liquid similar to the salt water that makes up most of the human body. On the extremely rare occasion that these implants rupture, they won’t cause bodily harm, and the body can easily absorb the solution. Dr. Ahmadi inserts these implants utilizing smaller incisions since he will fill them once they are properly placed within the breast pocket. Saline implants are also equipped with several saline chambers, allowing the solution to evenly distribute within the implant and prevent the risk of skin-rippling. Silicone gel implants are loaded with a thick, sticky silicone gel enclosed in a silicone shell. The gel feels a bit like thick jelly. Gummy bear implants are one of the most modern types of silicone-only implants available; they are made of a thicker, more cohesive gel that promotes greater resiliency against gravity and deformation, making them one of the most durable options available. (2) Smooth vs. Textured Implants Saline and silicone implants also come in two forms related to the design of the outer surface: smooth and textured surfaces. Smooth implants offer a more natural look and feel and promote less skin-rippling. Textured implants have a rougher surface that helps them adhere to the surrounding tissue, making them less likely to move around inside the pocket. Depending on your unique body structure and the applied surgical techniques, Dr. Ahmadi will figure out which type is best for your situation. Round vs. Teardrop Implants Round implants are the preferred shape for most cosmetic surgeries, promoting a more dramatic, lifted appearance. Teardrop, or anatomical implants are thinner at the top and fuller at the bottom, facilitating the look of a natural breast. These are most commonly used for women who are seeking breast reconstruction after a mastectomy. Low, Medium, and High Profiles Your implant profile refers to how far your implants will project from the chest wall– another aspect for women to consider. Dr. Ahmadi will help you choose which profile will look most flattering to your body shape. Low-profile implants are ideal for women with small frames, while medium-profile implants provide more fullness but are still relatively natural-looking. High-profile implants are the most noticeable and are ideal for women who want a very full chest. Implant Placement Dr. Ahmadi will also discuss with you the possible options for where to place the implants within the chest. There are 3 main types of implant placement, each delivering different results. For naturally slimmer women with less breast tissue, Dr. Ahmadi will likely use a submuscular placement, or implant placement just under the pectoral muscles. This will allow the volume of the implants to show through with the added tissue coverage of the pectoral muscles, providing smoother, more natural contours.

Procedure A breast lift surgery, or a mastopexy, is a cosmetic surgical procedure performed to lift and reshape sagging breasts (or drooping breasts) by removing excess breast skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to create a more youthful and uplifted appearance. The goal of a mastopexy is to reposition the nipple and areola, elevate breast tissue, reduce the size of the areola, and create a more symmetrical breast shape. As we age, our breasts change – things like pregnancy, nursing, or weight fluctuations, such as dramatic weight loss or weight gain, can affect the appearance of your breasts due to lost volume.

Due to Dr. Ahmadi’s artistic passion and attention to detail, Avante Plastic Surgery is one of the most exclusive practices in the Houston area. Dr. Ahmadi operates at the highest standard and is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. About Eyelid Surgery If you are considering eyelid surgery, you should know that the procedure is not just about aesthetics, it is about your quality of life. Gravity and skin changes from age can make your eyes puffy and change your overall appearance. Droopy skin and puffiness can be hard to manage because they can affect your vision and change the shape of your face. If you have droopy upper eyelids, you might even struggle to see with your peripheral or central vision. As we age, the eyelids also stretch over time which can result in bags underneath the eyes. Although sagging eyelids and excess fat are a natural part of aging, you definitely do not have to live with them. Dr. Ahmadi performs several different types of eyelid surgeries that target different areas around the eyes where you might be experiencing eyelid puffiness and ptosis. Upper Eyelid Surgery During an upper blepharoplasty, Dr. Ahmadi will make an incision along the natural fold of the eyelids and remove excess tissue. He will carefully stitch the incisions together to create a natural crease. Taking away excess skin and fat will have a face brightening, anti-aging effect. (2) You will barely be able to see the well-hidden scar and can return to your daily routine within a week or two. Lower Eyelid Surgery During a lower blepharoplasty, Dr. Ahmadi will make an incision beneath the eye. Next, he will remove excess skin and fat to shape the face, making you look more alert. He will make the incision just under the lash line or from inside the lower eyelid via the transconjunctival approach. This approach allows Dr. Ahmadi to perform the procedure without leaving visible incisions and can reduce the risk of possible side effects. (1) Quad Eyelid Surgery If you have puffiness or sagging skin in multiple areas, we can help you address this during one appointment. Why not get everything done in one procedure? During an upper and lower eyelid surgery (quad blepharoplasty), Dr. Ahmadi will remove skin and fat above and beneath the eyes. Dr. Ahmadi can even combine this procedure with a face lift or neck lift for a complete makeover. Benefits of Eyelid Surgery Patients at our Sugar Land and Houston locations experience the following benefits from blepharoplasty: Corrects drooping eyelids Reduces the appearance of eye bags and tear troughs Removes bulging fat and excess skin Eliminates lines around your eyes Restores youthful skin texture Candidates Good candidates for eyelid surgeries are usually 30 or older. However, if you are under 30, blepharoplasty is worth considering if you have a genetic disposition toward drooping eyes. Eyelid surgery is not just cosmetic. No matter your age, you do not need to settle for blocked vision due to sagging skin or increased fat in the eye area. Initial Consultation During your initial consultation, Dr. Ahmadi will discuss your options and recommend the best approach. We will ask you to complete our standard patient forms before your consultation. During your appointment, Dr. Ahmadi will discuss how he can help you achieve your dream look. At this time, you can ask questions or address any concerns about the procedure, your expectations, and the recovery process. For more information about eyelid surgery, schedule a consultation with Avante Plastic Surgery at (281) 265-2639. Preparation This simple procedure also has a relatively simple preparation process. Our office will ask you to stop taking any medication that thins the blood two weeks before your surgery date. This includes medications like aspirin and ibuprofen. Stay out of the sun, and wear UV protection if you are outside for long periods.

At Avante Plastic Surgery in Houston, BOTOX is one of our most popular non-surgical treatments. While every experience can lead to great stories, there are also instances where it leaves a mark. Aging is part of those experiences that so many people would love to overlook because of the fine lines and wrinkles that come with it. At Avante Plastic Surgery, Dr. Ahmad Ahmadi strives to portray a more youthful you with BOTOX and other neuromodulators that will soften your appearance. What is a BOTOX®? BOTOX®, Avante Plastic Surgery, Houston Neuromodulators stop muscles from contracting. They had other uses long before they were put into service fighting wrinkles. In the early 2000s, neuromodulators were approved by the FDA for cosmetic use for moderate to severe frown lines, and lines between the eyebrows. Neuromodulators are now established in correcting the forehead, Glabella (the 11’s), and crow’s feet around the eyes. If you’re not familiar with how neuromodulators do their magic, here’s a quick primer. Neuromodulators are made from the botulinum toxin type A, the same bacteria that causes botulism. A few decades back, doctors discovered that when delivered in very small amounts this toxin could temporarily paralyze a muscle. It does this by blocking the signals from the muscle’s nerves to the brain. Because the brain does not receive the message, it doesn’t contract the muscle. The botulinum toxin type A has even proven effective at treating migraine headaches and excessive underarm sweating. But it was not until it was tried on facial wrinkles that the toxin became famous. When we perform common behaviors such as frowning or squinting, certain muscles contract and form wrinkles on the surface above. Over time those wrinkles can become more permanent due to these repeated contractions. Neuromodulators stop the muscles from contracting, so the wrinkles on the surface don’t form or are far less apparent. Benefits Our Houston BOTOX and other neuromodulator patients have seen some of the following benefits from their treatments: Customizable options Easily combined with other treatments Fast results Increased self-esteem More youthful appearance Non-invasive No downtime Quick and easy injections Safe procedure Ideal Candidate The best candidates for BOTOX or other neuromodulator injections in Houston include those who share the following characteristics: Are in overall good health Aren’t allergic to any of the ingredients in the injectables Between the ages of 18 – 64 Have moderate to severe frown lines or wrinkles Keep realistic expectations for the outcome of your treatment Maintain a positive attitude Not currently pregnant or nursing First Step For BOTOX® BOTOX®, Avante Plastic Surgery, Houston The first step in getting BOTOX or neuromodulator injections in Houston is to contact Avante Plastic Surgery to schedule your consultation. The older we get, the less collagen and elastin our bodies produce. These proteins are crucial in giving our faces that plump and voluminous youthful look. If you have noticed that your face isn’t looking quite the same and would like to give your skin a refreshed look, Dermal Fillers in Houston from Avante Plastic Surgery could be great for you! About Dermal Fillers While dermal fillers are casually known as “wrinkle fillers,” they can do so much more than just smooth out wrinkles. Here are a few of the common issues dermal fillers can help address: Smooth out lines around the nose and mouth Enhance and restore volume to sunken eyes, cheeks, or temples Diminish vertical lip lines Plump and enhance the lips Smooth out a chin crease Improve symmetry among facial features There are a variety of FDA-approved filler products that plastic surgeons use. In general, fillers are categorized by the substance they are made from. Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance that is found in your skin. It helps keep skin plump and hydrated. HA fillers are typically soft and gel-like. The results are temporary, lasting 6 to 12 months before the body gradually and naturally absorbs the particles. Most HA fillers are infused with lidocaine to help minimize discomfort during and after treatment. FDA-approved HA fillers include: Revanesse Versa Juvéderm Restylane Belotero Calcium Hydroxyapatite (CaHA) Calcium hydroxyapatite is also a naturally occurring substance found primarily in our bones. The calcium particles are white microscopic particles suspended in a smooth gel when used as a filler. The consistency of a CaHA filler is typically thicker than a hyaluronic acid filler and typically lasts longer, about 12 months for most patients. Calcium hydroxyapatite also helps stimulate natural collagen production and is typically used for deeper lines and wrinkles. This white gel is an excellent choice to reduce the appearance of dark circles under the eyes. FDA-approved CaHA fillers include: Radiesse® Poly-L-lactic Acid Poly-L-lactic acid is biocompatible (meaning it is safe to use in the body) and a biodegradable synthetic substance. It has been used for many years in medical devices, such as dissolvable stitches. Poly-L-lactic acid products are technically classified as “collagen stimulators” as their main mechanism to smooth fine lines is by helping your skin rebuild natural collagen—the filler gel itself dissipates a few days after treatment. Poly-L-lactic acid is typically used to restore volume throughout the face, and results can last more than two years. FDA-approved Poly-L-lactic acid fillers include: Sculptra® With so many dermal filler products on the market, it can be difficult to know which option is best for you without an experienced cosmetic surgeon’s guidance. Each product is uniquely formulated to have a certain texture, density, and injection depth, which means certain fillers work better for certain areas of concern. Dr. Ahmadi will analyze your face during your consultation to recommend the most suitable fillers. Medical weight loss with semaglutide is a treatment that effectively reduces excess fat, helping people to lose weight. Weight loss is a common goal for many individuals seeking to improve their overall health and well-being. While there are various methods available, semaglutide is an innovative approach that has gained significant attention. At Avante Plastic Surgery, Dr. Ahmadi offers non-surgical weight loss treatment for patients in Sugar Land, Richmond, Rosenberg, and beyond. An expert plastic surgeon first and foremost, he provides semaglutide as a weight loss solution for its life-changing medical and aesthetic effects. For more information about non-surgical weight loss, call (281) 265-2639 or contact us online. About Non-Surgical Weight Loss For many people, excess weight is an unfortunate fact of life. It can cause countless health problems as well as physical discomfort and self-consciousness. Surgical solutions like sleeve gastrectomy and the gastric bypass can be effective options. However, not everyone wants to undergo an invasive procedure. Luckily, the discovery of semaglutide as a non-surgical weight loss treatment has brought about a convenient and straightforward option for addressing excess weight. What is Semaglutide? Semaglutide goes by the brand names Ozempic, Wegovy, and Rybelsus, all medications that have become increasingly popular for their effectiveness in promoting weight loss. It is a peptide– a building block of proteins – that affects the release of hormones. Working as a GLP-1 receptor agonist, semaglutide increases insulin release and decreases glucagon release. This helps regulate appetite and blood sugar levels. It also slows down gastric emptying, the process by which the food and liquids that you consume pass through your stomach. This reduces your appetite, causing you to consume fewer calories. Both of these effects work directly to promote significant weight loss. Weekly weight loss injections in the stomach, arm, or upper thigh as well as healthy dieting and exercising can help you achieve great results. Benefits of Semaglutide Treatment There are many benefits to receiving non-surgical weight loss treatment with semaglutide. These include: Lower blood sugar Substantial weight loss Avoiding invasive surgery Reduced appetite Renewed self-confidence and improved self-esteem Achieving a slimmer, more beautiful figure An opportunity to eat healthier with less distracting hunger Semaglutide not only aids in weight reduction but also promotes sustainable weight management. Clinical trials have shown that individuals who incorporate semaglutide into their weight loss program experience significant reductions in body mass compared to those using a placebo. In addition to its weight loss benefits, semaglutide has been associated with several other positive outcomes. It has been shown to improve blood sugar control, reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes, and decrease the prevalence of obesity-related conditions such as high blood pressure and dyslipidemia. (1) Who is a Candidate for Semaglutide? Non-surgical weight loss with semaglutide is most effective in patients with a body mass index (BMI) of 27 or higher. Candidates with weight-related comorbidities like diabetes, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure may seek treatment. If you have any of the following conditions, you may not be able to receive semaglutide treatment: Pregnant or breast-feeding Endocrine tumors Thyroid cancer (including family history) Kidney disease Diseases of the stomach If diet and exercise have failed to move you closer to your target weight and you want to avoid surgery, semaglutide treatment could be right for you. However, studies show that semaglutide treatment in combination with a healthy and active lifestyle will provide better results than either weight-loss solution alone. (2) Personal Consultation At your personal consultation, we will walk you through the semaglutide treatment process. We will ask you a series of questions about your medical history. Be prepared to provide information on any past or current medical conditions that you have had, as well as prescription medications that you have taken. We will conduct a medical examination that may include blood tests. With this information, we can determine whether or not semaglutide is right for you. Dr. Ahmadi values patient safety as highly as he does patient satisfaction. He will want to make sure that semaglutide is the right weight loss solution for you. If you are a good candidate, he will create a personalized plan for your treatment. You can also discuss your procedure schedule as well as the treatment cost. To schedule your consultation, call (281) 265-2639 or fill out this form.

Lasers have become more and more popular in cosmetic procedures over the years due to their effectiveness and safety. Using this treatment to correct skin conditions allows patients to improve their appearance in ways that were previously unobtainable, with a quick and painless recovery. At Avante Plastic Surgery, Dr. Ahmad Ahmadi strives to provide the best skin repair results for his Houston patients with Laser Resurfacing. About Laser Resurfacing Laser Skin Resurfacing, Avante Plastic Surgery, Houston Laser Resurfacing is a facial rejuvenation procedure that improves the appearance of a patient’s skin and treats minor facial flaws. Also called Ablative lasers, these treatments emit light in a uniform wavelength that gets absorbed by the lower dermis. The laser energy will be distributed in an even pattern to leave pockets of untreated skin, with each pulse of energy essentially vaporizing columns of tissue to encourage deep healing, collagen growth, and remodeling of tissue columns. Skin resurfacing is often combined with other surgical rejuvenation procedures (i.e. Facelift, Necklift, Brow Lift) to deliver stunning results. These lasers can be used to treat everything from fine lines and wrinkles to acne scarring, and so much more in between. What are the Benefits of Laser Resurfacing? Our Houston Laser Resurfacing patients have been able to enjoy the following benefits after receiving their treatment: Can treat melasma (brown or grey patches that appear on the skin) Improve acne scars, traumatic scars, and surgical scars Lessens the appearance of prominent blood vessels Quick and easy Permanent results Promotes collagen production Reduce fine lines and wrinkles Reduce the size of enlarged pores Shrinks pores Treat brown spots, redness, or discoloration Tighten skin and encourage collagen production Ideal Candidate The best candidates for Laser Resurfacing in Houston are patients with realistic expectations from their treatment results and who are currently dealing with: Chickenpox scars Fine lines or wrinkles around the eyes, mouth, and forehead Mildly sagging skin Shallow acne Sun-damaged or leathery skin Unfortunately, we can not recommend this treatment for patients who are currently pregnant or may become pregnant. The pulses of energy will induce deep healing and collagen production. The areas of untreated skin will help stimulate skin regeneration. Laser Resurfacing Recovery Laser Skin Resurfacing, Avante Plastic Surgery, Houston There is practically no downtime with Laser Skin Resurfacing, so you will be able to continue your daily routine immediately after your treatment. You will be advised to avoid wearing makeup for the first week post-treatment to not irritate your fresh, new skin. As you age, your body produces less collagen and elastin, which in turn will cause your skin to loosen up and sag. There are several options to help improve your appearance, some surgical, like a Facelift or Brow Lift, and some non-surgical like BOTOX, Dermal Fillers, and Thread Lifts. Dr. Ahmadi offers Thread Lifts as a great non-surgical & long-lasting solution to an aged appearance! About Thread Lift PDO Thread Lift, Avante Plastic Surgery, Houston A thread lift is a type of procedure wherein absorbable barbed sutures are used to produce a subtle but visible “lift” in the skin. Instead of surgically removing the patient’s loose facial skin, the plastic surgeon suspends it by stitching up portions of it. This has the effect of pulling the skin back slightly and lifting and tightening the face. In addition to being ideal for lifting the skin, threads combat aging in another way: by provoking the body’s “healing response” and causing the body to direct large surges of collagen to treated areas. This is important because of collagen’s vital role in aging. Thread lift sutures are most commonly made of biocompatible material designed specifically for safe reabsorption by the body. The same material has been used for many years in surgical sutures for many kinds of surgical procedures. Thread Lift Benefits PDO Thread Lift, Avante Plastic Surgery, Houston The great thing about a thread lift is that it offers quick recovery together with excellent results. This procedure requires no invasive surgery and leaves no scarring. Only Local numbing is required, and there is no need for a hospital stay. Another good factor about the thread lift is that it is much more affordable than a regular facelift. Thread Lift is the perfect solution for you if you are looking for a quick and effective solution to a range of aging problems. Ideal Candidate A thread lift is suitable for men and women who are in their late thirties to early fifties. The procedure is most effective on skin with minimal sagging and offers optimum results for cheeks, jawline, and neck area. Thread lift is the ideal choice if you are looking for more effective and long-lasting results than Anti-wrinkle Injections and fillers. If you are put off by traditional surgery, a thread lift is a great alternative, as it is minimally invasive and can be carried out under local analgesia. First Step for a Thread Lift If you are interested in the wonderful benefits that a Thread Lift in Houston can do for you, your first step is to contact our office and schedule your consultation with Dr. Ahmadi. When you come in for your appointment, you will be able to ask any questions you may have, address your skin concerns, and have the area you wish to be treated examined by Dr. Ahmadi, which will also include answering questions about your medical history. Once Dr. Ahmadi has a better understanding of what needs to be done, he will create your treatment plan. If you agree with the plan, our Patient coordinator will be able to help you schedule your appointment. Thread Lift Expectations PDO Thread Lift, Avante Plastic Surgery, Houston Thread lift is an outpatient office procedure. Before starting this procedure, a numbing cream or local anesthetic will be applied to the skin. Afterward, fine threads are advanced under the skin towards the area of the desired correction. These threads have fine barbs that become fixed to the tissue. Finally, Dr. Ahmadi gently pulls on the suture to lift and improve the sagging tissue. New bundles of collagen which surround each filament are produced by the body, and this, in turn, creates a subtle yet effective lift. The results differ for each person, but it looks very natural, thus giving a rejuvenated and refreshed look. There is no scarring and recovery time is significantly less than traditional surgery. A typical thread lift takes less than one hour to perform, but the length depends on the number of filaments your doctor uses and the areas being treated. Thread Lift Recovery You will receive aftercare instructions to follow once the procedure is complete. These will help relieve any distress and help speed up the healing process. For the first couple of days, you can use ice compresses to deal with any swelling and help reduce discomfort. Most patients experience mild swelling, but this is usually quick to settle. Recovery times are usually less than a couple of days. However, strenuous exercise, vigorous massaging of the face, and forceful chewing and mouth opening should be avoided for a week. Cost of a Thread Lift in Houston, TX The cost of a PDO Thread Lift in Houston will vary on several factors, particularly how much work will be needed to achieve your aesthetic goals. To get an accurate price for your procedure, schedule your consultation and once your treatment plan is made, our Patient Coordinator can give you a total breakdown of the cost of your procedure.
