Rodrick C. Zvavanjanja, MD, MSc, FRCR (UK), FSIR, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained interventional radiologist with expertise in endovascular management of vascular malformations, interventional oncology, peripheral arterial & venous disease, prostate artery embolization (PAE), adrenal vein sampling, portal hypertension shunt placements, and other complex endovascular treatments. He’s an associate professor of diagnostic and interventional imaging at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. He is one of the founding members of the UTHealth Houston Vascular Anomalies Multidisciplinary Clinic and median arcuate ligament syndrome (MALS) team. Zvavanjanja completed his interventional radiology fellowship in 2010 at Royal Liverpool University Hospital, United Kingdom. He completed a clinical interventional radiology fellowship in 2012 at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. He’s a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists, United Kingdom, and a Fellow of the Society of Interventional Radiology. Zvavanjanja has published multiple peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. He has presented abstracts and talks at international and local scientific/academic meetings. He is a passionate teacher and has received multiple Dean’s Teaching Excellence awards. He is a board examiner for the American Board of Radiologists (ABR). He is currently involved in several research areas at McGovern Medical School, including novel dendritic cell vaccine immunotherapy for glioblastoma brain cancer, minimally invasive endovascular treatments, and embolizations. He also collaborates in several ongoing multicenter clinical trials.
