Description
Sophia Khan, MD, is a board-certified surgeon treating adults with vascular diseases. She specializes in open and minimally invasive procedures. Khan has special clinical and research interests in the treatment of aortic disease, as well as the role of genetics in vascular disease. Khan is an assistant professor for the Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. She received her undergraduate degree in biological behavior at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, followed by her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She continued her surgical training at Cooper University of Rowan University and completed vascular surgery training at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. She also received additional training in advanced endovascular aortic repair at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Khan participates in many research studies and has published articles surrounding vascular surgery interventions in several medical journals.
