Maureen D. Mayes, MD, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained rheumatologist interested in caring for scleroderma patients. She’s a professor and the Elizabeth Bidgood Chair in Rheumatology at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, where she also co-directs the scleroderma program. Mayes is the author of over 300 publications on scleroderma and serves on the National Scleroderma Foundation Medical & Scientific Advisory Board. In addition to patient care, Mayes does research involving clinical trials of new and repurposed medications to treat this disease.
